Gary Hooper ensured Celtic's championship party went with a bang as he netted five goals against Hearts.-

Hooper tucked away two close-range finishes in the opening eight minutes and added a penalty when Joe Ledley was clipped by Arvydas Novikovas. Celtic continued to dominate after the interval and Hooper rounded keeper Jamie MacDonald to score on 66 minutes. With three minutes remaining, Hooper was in the right place again to complete the scoring.

It was the perfect way to prepare for the Scottish Premier League trophy presentation, with Celtic having wrapped up the title five weeks ago. With one eye on next weekend's Scottish Cup final, Hearts made seven changes to their starting XI. But manager Paulo Sergio selected his first-choice defence and will be worried at how easily they were torn apart by a rampant Celtic in the early stages.

A Kris Commons drive was spilled by Jamie MacDonald and Hooper was first to react to knock the ball into the net. Soon after, Georgios Samaras weaved his way forward and sped past Hearts skipper Marius Zaliukas to set up Hooper for a second easy tap-in. With Hearts wobbling, MacDonald had to look lively to parry a Charlie Mulgrew free-kick from 25 yards.

The early tempo dipped but Celtic retained in complete control, knocking the ball around with confidence. And Hooper completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after 39 minutes when he drilled the ball down the middle from the spot after Novikovas had caught the heels of Ledley.

Early in the second half, Commons delivered a fantastic free-kick to the back post area, only to see Samaras inexplicably duck under the ball when it looked like a certain headed goal.

On the hour, a mistake by Glenn Loovens allowed David Templeton in for Hearts's only attempt on goal but the winger's curled shot slipped a couple of feet wide. The fourth goal came following more good work from the impressive Commons.

A stretching Zaliukas could not cut out a raking pass from the Scotland midfielder, allowing Hooper to pick up the scraps, run around an exposed MacDonald. Immediately after the goal Beram Kayal got a warm ovation when he came on for Celtic skipper Scott Brown, the Israel midfielder making his first appearance since December after recovering from an ankle injury.

Hooper looked determined not to allow anyone else a taste of glory when he got in the way of a Mulgrew shot. And the English striker completed a memorable day when he knocked in his 29th goal of the season, converting a clever cross from Samaras.

Dundee United humbled the Scottish Premier League champions Celtic with a laboured victory at Tannadice.-

Scott Robertson headed in a hastily-taken corner to give the hosts a 21st-minute lead. In the second-half, claims for a Celtic penalty were waved away after the ball appeared to strike Keith Watson's arm inside the United area.

Gary Hooper came close to restoring parity in the final 10 minutes, but dragged his shot wide of the mark. The defeat was only Celtic's fifth of the season on their way to claiming the title, but guarnatees United a Europa League slot and all but cements fourth place.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon made seven changes with Fraser Forster, Mikael Lustig, Glenn Loovens, Charlie Mulgrew, Adam Matthews, Scott Brown and Gary Hooper restored to the side which beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Thursday night.

United boss Peter Houston made two changes - defender Gavin Gunning replacing Garry Kenneth and former Sligo Rovers player Richie Ryan making his first start in place of Johnny Russell.

After 10 minutes played, Kris Commons picked out Hooper with a defence-splitting pass from the heart of midfield, but the cutback aimed at Brown on the edge of the penalty area was cleared. A quickly-taken corner in the 21st minute minute allowed Robertson to leap unchallenged on the six yard line to nod the ball past a stationary Forster in the Celtic goal and spark the match to life.

Commons should have done better with a long-range short from the edge of the United penalty area as the half hour mark approached, then Hooper himself blasted in an effort from the same distance that Dusan Pernis clawed wide.
Celtic could have levelled the scores in the only minute of stoppage time when Commons flighted a low ball across the face of goal, but Anthony Stokes failed to reach it at the back post. 

Immediately after the break, Robertson blasted a long-range effort wildly over the Celtic bar, then at the other end substitute Tony Watt leapt on to a Lustig cross but his header inched wide. Moments later, youngster Watt blasted in a shot that Pernis parried wide of the United goal, then Dixon's close-range effort was blocked by Mulgrew and John Rankin failed to pick up the loose ball. 

With 15 minutes remaining, Emilio Izaguirre's cross on the left appeared to strike the arm of Watson inside the United penalty area, but referee Iain Brines waved play on.
Inside the final 10 minutes, Hooper dragged an angled shot inches wide of the mark as the visitors pushed for a leveller.

Quality defending by Mulgrew prevented Russell targeting the Celtic goal in the last minute of regular time, but a late flurry of pressure from the visitors failed to find the goal that would have avoided defeat.

Anthony Stokes' strike saw Celtic ease to victory against St Johnstone on a comfortable evening for Neil Lennon's men.-

The SPL champions, showing seven changes from the side that won the Old Firm derby, started sluggishly. Stokes struck the only goal from close range after Mark Wilson centred from Dylan McGeouch's short corner.

Mo Bangura came close to a second for Celtic and Murray Davidson spurned St Johnstone's best chance. Celtic aimed to continue the momentum from last weekend's win against Rangers, while the visitors were looking for a victory to move level on points with fourth-placed Dundee United.

Bangura, who has been plagued by injury since his £2.2m move from AIK in August 2011, looked sharp and linked up well with Kris Commons and Emilio Izaguirre. And the Sierra Leone international almost touched home a low cross after clever work by McGeouch but Stokes was at the far post to slot home.

Bangura tested St Johnstone keeper Alan Mannus with a 25-yard shot moments later as Celtic looked to double their lead. St Johnstone's forays forward in the first half were few and far between but Liam Craig fizzed a free-kick narrowly wide of Lukasz Zaluska's goal 10 minutes before the break.

The visitors spurned a great chance to equalise on the stroke of half time; Jody Morris playing in Murray Davidson who saw his shot saved by Zaluska and Kelvin Wilson cleared the danger. Bangura struck the post after a couple of impressive stepovers inside the penalty area and St Johnstone skipper Morris chipped a great chance wide moments later.

Steve Lomas's side, minus the suspended Fran Sandaza, lacked a spark in the final third in offering support to Cillian Sheridan although they did become more adventurous in the final 25 minutes. Derek Riordan fed Alan Maybury and his whipped cross into the box was begging to be flashed home but Sheridan failed to connect.

Stokes, with nine minutes remaining, found himself in space on the left and tried to dink a low cross into Bangura's path but St Johnstone repelled the danger. Substitute Gary Hooper sent a shot inches wide of Alan Mannus's goal in the closing stages as the game became stretched.

Former PSV Eindhoven midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim came on to make his debut and his cross gave Hooper the chance to fire home but his effort was chalked off for offside.
The closing moments were disrupted when referee assistant Raymond White twisted his ankle and was replaced by the fourth official. However, it failed to knock the hosts off their stride as they claimed victory.

Celtic proved themselves worthy champions with a convincing win over the troubled, administration-hit Rangers side they deposed.-

Rangers had started brightly, but they looked a dispirited bunch from the moment Charlie Mulgrew dived unmarked to head Celtic into a 17th-minute lead. Kris Commons chipped over goalkeeper Allan McGregor on the break to extend the lead on 31 minutes.
And Gary Hooper blasted in from distance nine minutes after the break.

The victory in the final Old Firm derby of the season stretches Celtic's lead over their Glasgow rivals to 21 points with three games remaining to emphasise that the team from the East End would have won the title even if Rangers had not been docked 10 points for going into administration.
Ally McCoist's side left the field looking shellshocked and with the taunts of the Celtic fans ringing in their ears amid banners and chants suggesting that this might be the last-ever Old Firm derby should Rangers go out of business.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon had ditched the experimental line-up that defeated Motherwell last weekend and brought back the experienced Fraser Forster, Adam Matthews, Glenn Loovens, Georgios Samaras and captain Scott Brown.
But Rangers, unchanged from the side that defeated Hearts to record their fourth straight win and looking to repeat last month's 3-2 win over Celtic, started confidently, with Lee McCulloch sending a 22-yard volley a couple of yards over after a neat Andy Little knock-down.

Play was already swinging from end to end and Kris Commons mis-hit a 16-yard drive after an Emilio Izaguirre cross caused panic in the Rangers defence. Rhys McCabe had a long-range effort deflected just wide of a Celtic post before leading a breakaway that ended with a Little shot straight at goalkeeper Forster.

However, Celtic took the lead with their first corner, which was driven long by Commons to the head of Mulgrew. The second half continued in the same manner, with McGregor being forced into a superb fingertip save to turn a Joe Ledley drive over the crossbar. McGregor had to save smartly on his goalline following Wanyama's mis-hit effort from the resulting corner, but the goalkeeper was given no chance when Celtic extended their lead moments later.

McCabe was dispossessed by Commons and Samaras' quick pass found Hooper with plenty of space to find the top corner with a rasping drive from 20 yards.

Forster pushed wide a powerful curling free-kick from Sone Aluko and Brown was lucky not to be sent off for a thumping challenge on Kerkar.

By then, however, the game was over as a contest as the two sets of fans rocked the stadium, one set in celebration, the other with a defiance largely absent from their side on the field of play.

RISPARMI | la giunta provinciale si taglia lo stipendio del 10%

La Provincia di Cremona si conferma ente virtuoso, e decide, anticipando le decisioni del governo, un taglio del dieci per cento dello stipendio di presidente e assessori. Non solo: la giunta provinciale, a inizio aprile, ha deciso anche di proseguire nella politica di contenimento dei costi applicando ulteriori tagli alle spese di staff e di comunicazione, già notevolmente ridotte rispetto al passato.

Come si legge nella delibera che ha approvato il nuovo piano di tagli, “questa Amministrazione, sin dal suo insediamento, ha dimostrato particolare attenzione e sensibilità al contenimento dei costi della struttura amministrativa, procedendo ad una riduzione di quelli sostenuti dalla precedente Amministrazione, con specifico riferimento alla comunicazione (-91%), allo staff della presidenza (-30%) e alle consulenze affidate (-57%)”.

Azione che è poi proseguita anche nel 2012: “l’azione di contrazione delle spese di funzionamento è proseguita senza soluzione di continuità, e si è accentuata ulteriormente nella predisposizione del bilancio 2012, con una nuova riduzione dei costi relativi allo staff del Presidente ed alla comunicazione, attraverso l’applicazione di tagli lineari che hanno portato a diminuire le disponibilità di un ulteriore 20%, ma che permettono di finalizzare i risparmi conseguiti in attività e servizi a favore della cittadinanza.”

Un segnale forte

Oltre a tutto questo, la Giunta Salini ha ritenuto opportuno “dare un segnale aggiuntivo che, pur avendo un contenuto non risolutivo, renda ancor più evidente la volontà degli amministratori dell’Ente di contribuire ad un riassetto della spesa pubblica, nell’ottica di una complessiva riduzione e contenimento dei costi legati alla gestione della macchina amministrativa”. Segnale che si è appunto concretizzando nella delibera di Giunta che ha stabilito “di proseguire nell’attività di riduzione e contenimento dei costi relativi di struttura, con particolare riguardo a quelli riferiti alla comunicazione e allo staff della presidenza, apportando un’ulteriore contrazione della somma a disposizione e finalizzando i relativi risparmi di spesa ad attività e servizi rivolti alla cittadinanza”, e “di disporre la riduzione del 10% dell’indennità di funzione, attualmente riconosciuta al Presidente ed agli Assessori provinciali”.

Debutant Tony Watt came off the bench to fire two goals as Scottish Premier League champions Celtic dealt a blow to Motherwell's European ambitions.

Celtic's Pawel Brozek fired wide and had another effort saved while 'Well's Chris Humphrey was twice denied by Lukasz Zaluska during the first half. Watt volleyed the visitors ahead on 63 minutes and quickly struck his second. Motherwell were unable to rally and Cha Du-Ri headed a third for Celtic seven minutes from the end.

Rangers' vastly superior goal difference means they are now just a point away from sealing the runners-up spot but the Ibrox side are unlikely to be eligible for European football next season, which would give the team finishing third a Champions League qualifying berth with Celtic.

The visitors made the early running with Kris Commons, Brozek and Victor Wanyama all unable to hit the target. Motherwell's first real chance came midway through the first half when the pacy Humphrey got in behind Emilio Izaguirre and hammered a volley towards goal that was beaten away by Zaluska.
And the Celtic stand-in keeper soon denied Humphrey again after the winger had struck a low drive from outside the area.

Wanyama's driving run and pass opened up space for Brozek on the edge of the Motherwell box but, with the goal at his mercy, the on-loan Trabzonspor striker stabbed his shot wide.
Omar Daley fired into the arms of Zaluska and, at the other end, Commons flashed another shot wide following another forceful run by Wanyama.

And Celtic had one more chance before the break as Brozek burst into the box off Commons' pass and forced keeper Darren Randolph to save with his feet.
Paddy McCourt, who had replaced the injured Ki Sung-Yueng before the interval, opened up the home defence with a superb splitting pass but Cha's hesitant pass was easily gathered by Randolph, the full-back left to rue his decision not to shoot.

And, within three minutes, Watt had doubled his tally, firing across Randolph into the net after being found by Joe Ledley. 
Cha completed the scoring when he met McCourt's deep cross with a powerful header, Randolph only able to get a touch on the ball as it flew past him.

«Dopo Bossi mai più un leader carismatico. Il nuovo segretario? Potrei non essere io».
L'ex ministro Maroni: «L'indipendenza della Padania resta il nostro progetto. E il momento è propizio».

Onorevole Maroni, è davvero convinto che Bossi non sapesse nulla dell'uso privato di denaro pubblico al vertice della Lega?

«Conosco Umberto Bossi da oltre trent'anni: non è mai stato legato ai soldi, ha sempre anteposto la Lega alla famiglia, come quando nel '90 ruppe con la sorella. Mi pare impossibile che fosse consapevole di quanto accadeva. È il tributo che gli devo».

 

Ci sono le firme di Bossi sui documenti.
«Se verrà accertato il contrario, me ne dispiacerò. Se è per questo, come segretario federale ha firmato anche i bilanci. Continuo a ritenere che il Bossi che conosco io sia diverso. Non voglio credere sia cambiato. In ogni caso, stiamo facendo le nostre verifiche interne per stabilire se, quanto e chi ha sbagliato».

Chi conduce l'inchiesta interna?
«Sono in tre: Stefano Stefani, il nuovo amministratore; Silvana Comaroli, l'amministratrice del gruppo parlamentare; e Roberto Simonetti, il presidente della provincia di Biella, con l'aiuto di una società esterna, la Price WaterHouse. Passeranno al setaccio tutto: i conti correnti, gli assegni, la contabilità, le proprietà immobiliari, con l'impegno di concludere entro il 30 giugno, data del congresso federale. Anche perché ogni giorno ne spunta una nuova, adesso i lingotti d'oro, i diamanti... roba da film dell'orrore più che da partito politico».

E lei, cofondatore, non sapeva proprio nulla?
«Degli investimenti in Tanzania ho letto sul Secolo XIX . Dell'amministrazione si è sempre occupato l'amministratore. Quando nel 2006 divenni capogruppo alla Camera, mi rifiutai di versare il contributo a quello di allora, Balocchi, perché non si capiva come sarebbe stato speso».

Ma come ministro dell'Interno non sapeva che dirigenti della Lega a lei ostili erano intercettati?
«Ho sentito anche questa, che sarei il regista dell'operazione. Be', se fossi riuscito a coordinare la Procura di Milano, quella di Napoli e quella di Reggio Calabria, sarei l'uomo più potente d'Italia...».

Regista, no. Informato, magari sì.
«Non è così, e per fortuna che non è così. Quando divenni ministro, andai dal capo della polizia e da altri a chiarire che non intendevo essere informato su indagini in corso».

Ha mai incontrato Bonet?
«Mai. Fu lui, attraverso una parlamentare della Lega, a chiedere di vedermi, dopo che era uscita la storia della Tanzania. Rifiutai».

Sulla posizione di Calderoli che idea si è fatto?
«Nessuna. Non inseguo le intercettazioni. Sarà l'inchiesta interna a stabilire come sono stati spesi i soldi del partito. Mi rimetto a questo accertamento. Nel frattempo, faccio notare che Bossi è stato l'unico segretario a dimettersi; Bersani e Rutelli non l'hanno fatto. Renzo Bossi ha lasciato il consiglio regionale; Penati no».

Per la successione si parla di lei, ma anche di un terzo uomo tra lei e Bossi. Come stanno le cose?
«A Bergamo ho lanciato il programma. Primo, fare pulizia, senza caccia alle streghe: io non sono Torquemada. Secondo, nuove regole: soldi alle sezioni, non in Africa. Terzo: meritocrazia. Quarto: largo ai giovani. Non mi considero anziano, ma certo faccio parte della prima stagione, nata con Bossi. La Lega del futuro, la Lega 2.0, ha bisogno di giovani. Per fortuna ne abbiamo: Zaia, Tosi, Cota, Giorgetti. Hanno la stoffa del leader? Non lo so. Valuteremo».

E se si ricandidasse Bossi?
«Ho già detto che lo voterei. In ogni caso, dopo di lui non verrà un nuovo Bossi. Un leader carismatico è per sua natura insostituibile. Verrà un nuovo assetto. E una nuova squadra. Gli equilibri tra i territori sono importanti, non a caso lo statuto prevede che il presidente e il segretario non siano della stessa regione. Se il congresso eleggesse un segretario veneto, sarei l'uomo più felice del mondo».

Sta dicendo che il segretario potrebbe anche non essere lei?
«Certo. Di sicuro sarà un segretario davvero federale. Collegiale. Un primus inter pares. Che tenga insieme il partito. Se no frana tutto».

Preoccupato dalle amministrative?
«Il timore c'è. Nei sondaggi paghiamo, ma non così tanto. Ci sarà un rimbalzo. E in prospettiva non siamo messi così male; anzi. La questione settentrionale è lì, intatta. Dobbiamo attrezzarci per essere ancora noi a rappresentarla. In questi dieci anni siamo rimasti un po' indietro. Dobbiamo ridefinire le nostre proposte su ambiente, energia, banche, piccole e medie imprese».

Tornerete ad allearvi con il Pdl?
«Al congresso ci sarà da prendere una decisione. O puntare sull'identità e andare da soli; o costruire un accordo per far ripartire il federalismo».

Lei è per la seconda linea?
«L'istinto prevalente è per la prima. Io mi limito a ricordare che andando da soli abbiamo colto grandi vittorie elettorali, come nel '96, quando arrivammo al massimo storico, senza però essere determinanti. Costruendo alleanze abbiamo colto grandi vittorie politiche. Se il Pdl proseguirà con il rinnovamento e riconoscerà l'errore di aver sostenuto Monti, il dialogo potrà riprendere».

I suoi rapporti con Tremonti come sono?
«Freddi. Lui è insofferente a ogni critica. Ricordo le riunioni notturne con Pezzotta, Angeletti e D'Amato quand'ero ministro del Welfare: Tremonti s'alzava sbattendo la porta per un commento critico del Sole 24 Ore . Io però lo stimo molto. Ha spunti geniali. Nella fase di progettazione che ci attende, il suo contributo sarebbe prezioso».

Il regno di Formigoni non è durato troppo a lungo? Gli scandali della Regione Lombardia non la imbarazzano? «Sì, ma noi siamo gente seria e manteniamo gli impegni. Non faremo cadere Formigoni. Se poi nel 2013 lui deciderà di andare a Roma, noi ci candideremo a governare la Lombardia».

Come sarà la Lega del futuro? Parlerà ancora di secessione e indipendenza della Padania? O punterà su autonomia e federalismo?
«L'indipendenza della Padania resterà sempre il nostro progetto. Ci si può arrivare con la rivoluzione o con l'accordo, come hanno fatto Repubblica Ceca e Slovacchia; ma la prospettiva non è affatto tramontata, anzi, il momento è propizio. Gli Stati-nazione non contano più nulla. Non governano né i confini, né la moneta, né la politica estera; ora, con il fiscal compact, non governeranno neppure più le finanze. E anche la burocrazia di Bruxelles è in crisi. Noi non siamo antieuropeisti, ma neoeuropeisti: dall'Europa a 27 Stati si deve passare all'Europa delle macroregioni. Una sarà la Padania».

E l'Italia? Scomparirà?
«L'Italia è già scomparsa. Ha perso la sua sovranità. Lasci stare Monti, che si fa dettare l'agenda da Merkel e Sarkozy. Noi stessi siamo stati costretti a fare una guerra in Libia che non volevamo».

Ma lei, che è stato ministro dell'Interno, non si sente italiano?
«Io mi sento europeo. E sono profondamente legato alle mie origini, alla cittadina dove sono nato. Quando nel '94 da sconosciuto divenni ministro, i giornali scrissero che ero di Lozza, "quartiere di Varese". Mi ritrovai mezzo paese sotto casa. Pensavo volessero festeggiarmi. Erano lì per protestare: "Devi dire che siamo un Comune!". I Comuni sono la base del federalismo italiano».

Perché allora l'ampolla, il dio Po, i riti celtici?
«Quella è l'identità. La pancia. Enfatizzata dai giornali. Potrei risponderle citando i nostri 300 sindaci; compreso il "famigerato" Gentilini, eletto dai trevigiani che tutto sono tranne che baluba. O il Bossi che nel '91 dice: "Noi non siamo per un federalismo etnico e linguistico, ma sociale ed economico". nell'articolo in prima pagina dell'edizione odierna de "Il Cremasco" ho letto un passaggio che riporto integralemente, a parlare è l'On. Torazzi:

"...ho chiesto ai due esponenti del direttivo che hanno sfiduciato l'ex-segretario (Barbati n.d.r.), Matteo Soccini e Marco Bonetti, quale fosse il loro motivo e mi hanno risposto che si trattava di una questione personale, quindi non di una critica nei confronti dell'operato di Barbati."

dei motivi che mi hanno spinto a presentare le dimissioni dal direttivo provinciale, causando in tal modo il commissariamemento, non ho mai fatto parola con la stampa (nonostante le numerose richieste pervenute da parte dei giornalisti non ho mai rilasciato dichiarazioni, così come non ho scritto nulla prima di oggi su questo blog o sui vari sociale network).

quando, come in questo caso, mi si attribuiscono parole che non ho mai pronunciato con il fine di avvalorare una tesi infondata, è mio malgrado dovere intervenire sull'argomento per SMENTIRE CATEGORICAMENTE quanto riportato nell'intervista pubblicata.

le INNUMEREVOLI ragioni delle dimissioni le ho esposte in un lungo colloquio con il commissario provinciale Sen. Mura, il tutto alla presenza degli altri membri dimissionari dal direttivo provinciale.

interpellato dall'On. Torazzi, alla presenza di altre persone della sezione cittadina oltre che del già citato Mura, ho semplicemente risposto che in questa fase è mia intenzione impegnarmi nella campagna elettorale a sostegno del movimento, lasciando l'eventuale discussione sui motivi delle dimissioni a dopo le elezioni di maggio.

2. meritocrazia.
3. largo ai giovani.
4. fuori chi non le rispetta.

«Oltre alle regole, oltre a fare pulizia, dobbiamo pensare alla cosa più importante: l’unità del movimento per vincere la nostra battaglia, l’indipendenza della Padania. La Padania non è mai stata minacciata come in questo momento, dalla crisi, dal governo, dall’Europa e dalla finanza internazionale. La partitocrazia e Roma vogliono annientare la Lega. Tenteranno ancora di dividerci».

«Abbiamo valutato la necessità di fare subito i congressi nazionali e il congresso veneto lo stesso giorno del lombardo. Dobbiamo dare un segnale forte di coesione straordinaria. E dopo i congressi nazionali bisogna anticipare anche il congresso federale, entro giugno, per dare una guida salda e forte al movimento. Non lo dico per me, ho già detto che se Bossi si ripresenterà io lo rivoterò».

«Abbiamo un sogno nel cuore. Diventare nel 2013 il primo partito della Padania. Possiamo farcela».

Celtic clinched the Scottish title in style via a demolition of Kilmarnock, with Charlie Mulgrew the architect.-

Mulgrew scored two and set up two more as Neil Lennon's side, needing only a point, put the result beyond doubt by half-time at Rugby Park. He headed in after eight minutes, Glenn Loovens nodded in nine minutes later, Mulgrew fired the 35th-minute third and Gary Hooper volleyed in on 45 minutes. Joe Ledley chipped in after 88 minutes and Hooper shot home two minutes later.

Lennon's first title in his second full season as manager - and Celtic's first in four years - comes after they came from 15 points beind to overhaul holders Rangers, who began to stumble even before being docked 10 points by the Scottish Premier League for going into administration in February.

For Kilmarnock, who lost 5-1 at home to the Ibrox side on the final day of last season, it meant once again being the whipping boys at a Scottish Premier League title party.

Having upset the odds to beat Celtic in last month's Scottish Communities League Cup final, the hosts would have had ambitions to repeat the trick here - and both sides began in determined mood, with players flying into the tackles - but it was Celtic who had soon muscled their way in front.

Ki Sung-Yueng's corner found Mulgrew storming unmarked into the six-yard box and the defender powered his near-post header down and over the line.
And thoughts of an upset were quickly dispelled as Loovens gave Celtic the second goal that put them firmly in command.

Mulgrew, playing at left-back, found himself on the right wing and his inswinging cross to the back post was met powerfully by the head of the Dutchman, who had escaped the attentions of Mahamadou Sissoko.

If it was not quite the three goals in seven minutes that put Rangers on easy street last season, but Celtic - for whom Adam Matthews, Kelvin Wilson and Ki Sung-Yueng started in place of Mikael Lustig, Thomas Rogne and Anthony Stokes - were nevertheless getting the job done five games before the end of the season.

However, Bell was left exposed again when Mulgrew turned inside James Fowler and curled a low drive into the far corner of the net from just inside the penalty box.
Bell produced a desperate save with his legs to deny a low drive from Georgios Samaras before cup final goal hero Dieter van Tornhout had Kilmarnock's first effort on goal with a looping header over the bar two minutes before the break.

There was still time before the interval for Hooper to blast a superb volley into the roof of the net from an acute angle after being found by Mulgrew's curling cross to the back post.

Two half-time substitutions seemed to revive Kilmarnock and they were first to threaten after the re-start, with Liam Kelly - making his first start since the death of his father after the League Cup final win - blasting over, before Forster had to push clear a low Gary Harkins cross.

Harkins sent a drive into the side-netting and Fowler fired over then shot straight at Forster as Kilmarnock threatened to reduce the arrears.

Celtic, appearing to go through the motions having secured the win that takes them 21 points clear of reigning champions Rangers, nevertheless finished with a flourish.
Ledley broke through to flick over Bell before Hooper fired past the goalkeeper from 18 yards to inflict Kilmarnock's heaviest-ever home defeat in the SPL.
